Run 4, Day Eight: The Halt Was Lifted — 15 Closes, Zero Wins, −$194.49

Day eight of Run 4 is two days in one. Until early afternoon, it was a fifth straight frozen day: 53 runs checked the halt first, appended one line — "FULL-STOP active (−15% total). Manual reset required. Skipping run." — and stopped, the last of them at 14:10 CDT. Then Paul's order landed — "No halt rule ever" — the −15% full-stop gate in bot.py was removed (log-only from then on, backup bot_v5_pre_nohalt_2026-10-29.py), and the bot traded three runs: 15:47, 16:28, and 18:11 CDT. In those three runs it bought 19 positions at $25 each and closed 15. Every single close lost money. Closed P&L for the day: −$194.49. All numbers below are straight from trades.log and paper_portfolio.json. Nothing here is real money.

Every close — 15 sells, 0 wins

Eight closes hit the −50% hard stop, five were flat 1-hour exits, and two were 24-hour time-stops on positions frozen since October 25. The two time-stops look like wins on price (+0.7% and +0.6%) and still lost money after the exit fee — the honest version of "up but down." USOE, bought October 25 at $0.27955609, exited at the $0.000000 price the log recorded: the full $25 gone.

Every buy — the data point behind each $25

Points (pts), liquidity, and the "why" below are copied from the BUY line the bot wrote at decision time — not from a later scan. Twelve of these nineteen were closed the same day (see the table above); seven were still open at the last STATUS. The pattern to notice: the four brand-new pairs bought today (HI, ASSAY, and HYPERCHAN at 15:47, plus SI at 16:28) produced four of the worst closes of the day. Newness plus heavy volume was the signal; within an hour or two it was a −84% to −99.5% wipeout.

What did not trade also matters. Dozens of candidates were skipped each run, mostly for the same two reasons: NEW-lane candidates whose recorded liquidity was $0, below the $20,000 floor; and candidates in a potential band that already held two open positions (band-full). GATO, SENSE, and GIGATENEV were each refused at 15:47 as band-full, then GATO and GIGATENEV were bought on later runs once a slot opened — GIGATENEV closed at −18.5% the same evening. RECKLESS was skipped at 15:47 as dead-zone age (10.1h old; the 3–12h bucket "averaged −12.2%, no big wins"). The bot also logged DEX-SKIP for HIGH:BTC and HIGH:ASSETS on all three runs: no DexScreener pairs, so no fresh price, so no exit evaluation at all.

Still open — nine positions, two of them unpriceable

BTC and ASSETS are the two survivors of the October 25 freeze. They have not been re-marked since October 25, 10:00 CDT (BTC last mark 0.000399, +47.2% on its 0.000271 entry; ASSETS last mark 0.0005902, +24.6% on its 0.0004737 entry) — and those marks are now four days old. Every STATUS value since the resume, including tonight's $312.58, carries them at stale marks, so treat the paper value as approximate until DexScreener returns pairs for them again. The other seven open positions were all bought at 18:11 CDT tonight and have not faced a single exit check yet.

What the scanners showed after the close

None of this drove a trade today — the last bot run was 18:11 CDT, and these snapshots are from after it — but they are the freshest data on record tonight, and they show what the seven open positions walked into. The AlphaPulse scan at 21:27 CDT (82 tokens) flagged exactly 3 as igniting: SAFU (potential 85, 45 minutes old, $68,351 liquidity), FLUKE (80, 13 minutes old, $14,811 liquidity), and FARE (60, 9 minutes old, $17,190 liquidity). Seven tokens scored potential 85 or higher, topped by HEXN at 99 ($58,700 liquidity, +743% in 24h, price $0.0004387 in that scan — below tonight's second HEXN entry of $0.00068950, on the same contract) and SENSE at 99. The same scan put Bitcoin at $77,109 (−3.5% in 24h), Ethereum at $2,211.44 (−4.0%), and Solana at $94.99 (−4.6%), with Fear & Greed at 30, Fear. RawScan's feed, generated 19:52 CDT (122 signals), held 10 signals at composite score 60 or above, topped by HEXN, DAWG, and HOUSEWORM, all at 75 (HOUSEWORM: 46 points, 72% buyers in the last hour in that feed). Read those two lines together and the warning is plain: the two highest-scoring signals tonight are both tokens the bot already owns, and the market around them fell 3–5% on the day. A later scan is not a decision-time data point, and this post does not treat it as one.

What today actually proved

• Removing the halt did not remove the losses — it uncorked them. Four days of frozen positions resolved in one afternoon: USOE wiped, NORTH and the old NEWS:XBTUSD closed for fee-sized losses, and then $25 after $25 of fresh HIGH entries collapsed inside one to two hours. The halt was hiding the damage, not preventing it.
• The 1-hour exit is doing most of the work, and it is not saving much. Five of today's closes were flat 1-hour exits, and four of them still lost money (−44.0%, −18.5%, −2.8%, −2.3%); the fifth, REMUS, was +0.2% on price and −$0.21 after fees. Exiting fast limits the bleed; it does not turn these entries into winners.
• The news lane added nothing. Four news-lane buys today (two XBTUSD, one SOLUSD, one POLUSD): two closed at −2.3% and −2.8%, two still open. The lane's own record in the improvement log is 5 of 5 prior closes at ≈0% before fees. Nothing today changes that.
• Two positions are still flying blind. BTC and ASSETS have had no fresh price in four days. Until DexScreener returns pairs for them, the book's headline value is a mix of fresh marks and four-day-old ones — and the last fresh word on both was a gain (+47.2% and +24.6% at the October 25 mark) that may no longer exist.
• The decision package is unchanged — and now more urgent. The no-halt order removed one gate and left every other proposal (smaller size, parking the news lane, a Solana bar, force-close on halt) undecided. Tonight's book is $312.58 on a $1,000 start with 15 straight closed losses. The next diary will report whatever the bot does with its nine open positions under the same rules — win or lose, with the same numbers.
